The Fires of California
After a series of seriously disconcerting fires have ravaged the California landscape, there continues to be a number of trees and environments that show the signs. It’s hard to see and it makes even clearer, we need to stop global warming and make our effort to save the environment. I recently went back to California, and decided to take some pictures for the site. Check them out below.

Grab a Bike, Drop the Car
It’s time to grab the bike and go, and drop the car. Sell it now, while they’re still worth something. When gasoline continues it’s skyrocketing journey up to astronomical proportions, cars will be almost impossible to sell. We’re already seeing the pressure on SUVs, but this could eventually translate to regular cars too. Grab the bike and be free!
Looking for Ways to Contribute to Help the Environment?
It can be hard to always be green, and sometimes it’s hard to realize that being green can actually be easy. There are little steps to be made and easy ways that can help the planet and your pocket. I recently found a website that has an incredibly intelligent and well designed page of “50 Ways to Help the Planet.” Check it out here.
Hijacked Fuel Trucks from our Oil Dependence
“America is addicted to oil.” Bush is famous for saying this during his State of the Union in 2006. Following this shocking comment for a president who’s shown his support for oil companies in so many ways, he began to talk to the country about the possibilities of Hydrogen as an energy source. It’s too far out, electric vehicles are the solution.
Electric vehicles can be powered by coal power, but at the same point they can be powered by alternative energies like wind and solar. Even if they are still using coal, America is the middle east of coal and we needn’t worry about foreign dependence on coal. To fill up an electric vehicle’s batteries, it requires much less an energy usage and costs pennies compared to our nation’s $4.00 per gallon gas prices.
These things aren’t new, nobody should be shocked by the statements being made thus far. It’s an interesting little idea that’s got me going. What about this dependence on oil? What could we possibly see in the near future with prices skyrocketing.
America could soon see a correlation in oil prices to hijacked gas tankers. People are going to become desperate, and as gas prices extend beyond purchasable levels, consumers might stand up and band together. It may be a little far fetched, but we could see consumers of oil banding together to essentially steal oil. From everything to pumping gas without paying to possibly even hijacking a fuel tanker.

Hijacked and stripped of essentials, the gas would be split among a population. When would we see this terrible act of desperation? The potential for hijacked fuel tankers comes to mind when gasoline approaches the double digits from $9 to $10 per gallon. Move away from your oil dependence, it’s all you can do.
